FAQ (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)

What does your firm do?

Scott D. Bonk and Associates, Inc. has been providing Professional Consulting Services for twenty-six (26) years and we provide three (3) basic services:

Conditional Reports: These printed and bound Reports consist of a compilation of data from an onsite, visual inspection and review of information obtained from the Client, along with evidence in Digital Photography. Reports typically cover the existing conditions, the estimated roof life remaining, and the estimated costs for repairs, maintenance and/or replacement.

Specifications, Bid Documents and Detail Drawings: The Specifications, Bid Documents and Detail Drawings are compiled in a Project Manual. These documents are not generic or boilerplate documents but are created specifically for each project and include technical information for all components, drainage design and methods of installation, including wind uplift calculations. Detail Drawings clearly depict the conditions to be installed at all locations, intersections, penetrations and all related items for the project.

Expert Testimony: Expert testimony includes representation of our Client in Depositions, Mediations, Arbitrations and Trials. Working closely with your legal counsel we will determine existing conditions and then compile that information in Report form comparing the installation with the applicable Building Code, Approvals, Attachments and Installation compliance.

What are your fees?

Our Professional fees are based on services rendered and figured separately for each project. Call our office for a discussion of your project and we will provide you with a no-cost written proposal identifying exactly what the fees would be for your project.

How long does it take to develop a Report?

Your project will be scheduled upon receipt of a signed Contract Agreement and the Report will typically be complete within two (2) weeks. Completion of the Report depends on the size of the project, location of the project and services provided.

What do you do when you inspect work in progress?

Our onsite Observations include reviewing the installation of the work in progress and include review of all materials, components, methods of application and replacement of deteriorated components, if applicable. All Observations are documented in Report form with Digital Photography. Following completion of the project all Observation Reports and Digital Photography are presented to the client in both a bound format and on a CD.
